about

Originally conceived as soundtrack pieces for Modern Streamers League (www.modernstreamersleague.com), these five instrumental tunes are now available to enjoy in your headphones at any time.

I was approached by my great friend Michael Goldenberg for original music for his show on Twitch, Modern Streamers League, leading to the genesis of these songs.

While working on my next LP, these songs helped get me out of a writing rut that I've felt stuck in since the release of East Coast New England Boy. The songs here might feel at times conventional, but that was ultimately their purpose; to be heard during live breaks of the Modern Streamers League broadcast on Twitch.

"Magic Johnson" was the first piece I worked on of these songs, eventually giving its name with a nod and a wink, also a sly reference to Magic: The Gathering, which is played in Modern Streamers League. While this and the other songs are largely quite simple, I began feeling somewhat liberated from that songwriting rut I'd been stuck in, as I continued working on these songs.

As you might have guessed from the EP's name, I intend to expand the collection of "Incidentals" as I follow my whims and imagination, and perhaps as my friends ask for original music for their multimedia projects.
